Angelica’s Bakery “La Original” was founded, September 21, 1990 by Angelica Lopez in her early 30’s. She always had a vision of having a small bakeshop. Angelica went from baking cakes from home, to serving the community for 37 years. Angelica’s Bakery was one of the first Mexican bakeries in Bakersfield, CA. She had imagined making and selling only cakes in her bakeshop. Within months she was making pastries and hired a baker to make traditional Mexican sweet bread. As demand grew rapidly, Angelica opened other locations in Bakersfield and Lamont, CA. Later she decided to sell the businesses to family. Now Angelica owns only this location on California Ave. We are a family oriented business as family is important to us.
